The Japanese vehicle and engine constructor Honda came up with a concept in the middle class car gather the dynamic lines and combinatorial similar body in a model. Special feature of this mid-1980s under the name Honda Accord Aerodeck imported version of the Honda-middle class: The Accord Aero Deck was built as a three-door.
Not until the early 1990s this became a real combination, the now five-door ready put the spaciousness of a midsize station wagon with an appropriate roof structure.
Although in Europe the market share of station wagons increased constantly, the manufacturer decided in the second half of the 1990s, the Honda Accord Kombi initially offer only on the Japanese domestic market.
Only in 2003, the Japanese came forward with a newly developed Kombi based on the Accord sedan back in European markets. The goal: Honda Accord Tourer should be established as a lifestyle station wagon.
The new beginning Hondas in the kind of the middle class suits for Europe highlighted not only the new name Accord Tourer. Technically the combination should make it clear that the Japanese had better adjusted to European customer requests. Most important supplement in the program therefore was constructed by Honda diesel engine.
Earlier, the Japanese had set to their proprietary VTEC engine technology the Accord. From 2003 now there was the Honda Accord Tourer as diesel with a 2.2 liter common rail engine, which put the combi up to 103 kW (140 hp). As gasoline the Honda Accord Tourer was offered with three power outputs of 114 kW (155 hp) to 140 kW (190 hp) in the program. In the 2.4-liter top model of the Honda Accord Tourer was designed with an all-wheel drive.
In the second generation, the Japanese presented the Honda Accord Tourer design style of a true lifestyle station wagon. The front bumper and the widely-reaching rear headlights underline the sporty claim. It is also reflected in the performance, which was increased accordingly compared to its predecessor.
In the diesel version of the Honda Accord Tourer second generation was at 110 kW (150 PS) access. Moreover, in this generation there was an even sportier designed diesel, which as a Honda Accord Type S mobilized up to 132 kW (180 hp). In addition, two petrol stood with 115 kW (156 hp) and 148 kW (201 hp) in the program.
